Jin Meyerson creates psychedelic paintings inspired by images gleaned from media, movies, television, and Internet. Meyerson’s process blends the digital and the analog: he physically twists his source photographs as he scans them, later recreating the swirled effect on canvas. The results are energetic “marbling” patterns, his attempts to reflect the acceleration and overwhelming nature of urban life and its never-ending stream of media. “The work is trying to deal with the issues of the world, and my perception of it,” he says.
